Wrong citation → that claim is free

How it works

Four steps. You take the last one.

First review back within 4 business hours. You submit the documentation and keep the carrier relationship — nobody here contacts your adjuster.

Chain of custody

ScopeRecordContractorCarrier

Never ScopeRecord → Carrier. The documentation goes to you and stops there. You decide what gets submitted, and every word that reaches an adjuster reaches them from you.

Step 01

Send the claim

The carrier estimate is the only thing strictly required. Everything else makes the analysis stronger. No login, most files up to 100 MB.

  • Carrier estimate — PDF or Xactimate ESX, read as written rather than re-keyed
  • Roof report, field photos, policy declarations, adjuster correspondence
  • Date of loss and property address — these decide which code edition applies
Step 02

Line-by-line analysis

Each line is resolved to the operations it actually pays for, then compared against what the property requires. The arithmetic is run again from scratch.

  • Estimate decomposed to line level: selector, description, quantity, unit basis, pricing
  • Operations required by an assembly but absent from the estimate — flashings, terminations, linings
  • IRC edition in force at the property's jurisdiction on the date of loss, plus local amendments and manufacturer specifications
  • Quantities and waste factors recalculated against measured facet geometry and pitch
  • Xactimate selector logic, so the output can be entered without translation
The eight stages, in technical detail
Step 03

Human estimator review

Nothing goes out on an algorithm's say-so. An experienced estimator opens every proposed line before the package exists.

  • Each citation is verified to exist, to be adopted here, and to say what the finding claims
  • Quantities are re-checked against the measurement they came from
  • Anything that can't be defended in writing is removed — not downgraded, removed
  • Ambiguous items are flagged with the ambiguity stated, and never counted in a total
  • Where evidence is missing, you get a numbered request for the exact shot or measurement
Step 04

You submit it

The package comes to you. What happens next is entirely yours to decide.

  • Supplement narrative, written to be sent from you
  • Line schedule in Xactimate's vocabulary — no seat required to use it
  • Citation appendix with the full text of every requirement relied on
  • Photo exhibit, each image tied to the line it supports
  • First claim free; after that $349 flat at submission — no percentage of what the carrier approves

The workflow, running

Send what you already have.

The carrier estimate, roof report, photos, and policy documents — compared against the work the property actually requires.

When nothing is found

Sometimes the estimate is right. We say so, and you don’t end up paying.

You get told plainly, with what was checked. If you already paid for the review, that fee is refunded in full — not a reduced fee, not a credit toward the next claim. The whole thing.

Knowing an estimate is complete is worth something too. It closes the question.

Where we stop

The limits are deliberate.

ScopeRecord provides documentation only. We do not adjust claims, do not represent policyholders, and do not negotiate with carriers or insurers. The contractor submits all documentation under their own name.

We don't contact your carrier

Not by phone, not by email, not once. The package goes to you and stops there.

We don't negotiate or represent

No settlement discussions, no policyholder representation, no appearance on your claim.

We don't guarantee approval

What a carrier approves is the carrier's decision. What we guarantee is the citation.

We don't invent a finding to fill a package

A line that shouldn't be there earns nothing under this pricing and costs credibility on the next claim.
